About the Role
Skill IT Education is looking for a Cyber Security Trainer who can take learners from networking and security fundamentals to hands-on ethical hacking, penetration testing and security operations. You will teach, mentor and help shape the curriculum behind our Cyber Security and SOC Analyst programs.
If you enjoy running a live attack-and-defend lab, explaining how real breaches happen, and watching students land their first security role, this is the job for you.
What You’ll Own
- Deliver classroom and live online sessions on networking, operating systems, ethical hacking, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and SOC operations
- Run hands-on labs with industry tools such as Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, Nessus, and SIEM platforms like Splunk and IBM QRadar
- Teach reconnaissance, scanning and enumeration, system hacking, web application attacks, and reporting findings the way a professional tester would
- Cover blue-team skills including log analysis, alert triage, incident response, threat hunting, and mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK
- Build and maintain safe practice labs where learners can attack and defend without risk
- Design and update curriculum, lesson plans, lab guides, assignments, and assessments in line with industry needs
- Guide learners through capstone projects and vulnerability assessment reports built on realistic scenarios
- Mentor students one-on-one, run doubt-clearing sessions, and track individual progress
- Prepare learners for interviews and certifications such as CEH, Security+, and CySA+ through mock interviews and portfolio guidance
- Conduct workshops, webinars, and demo sessions that support admissions and outreach
- Work with the placement team to align training with hiring partner expectations
- Stay current with new threats, tools, and techniques and bring them into the classroom
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in cyber security (penetration testing, SOC, vulnerability management, or incident response), with training or mentoring experience an advantage
- Solid grounding in networking, Linux and Windows internals, and common attack techniques
- Practical command of tools such as Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, and at least one SIEM platform
- Clear communication and the patience to teach learners from varied backgrounds
- Nice to have: industry certifications (CEH, OSCP, Security+, CySA+ or similar), CTF or bug-bounty experience, or a public write-up portfolio
